Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach

Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa located in the Waikiki Beach area, is a great option when staying in Oahu. Let’s share what makes this resort perfect for couples and families!

When you first step in the resort, the open-air lobby will wash you in the Aloha Spirit! The rooms are nicely appointed. The only room we suggest avoiding are the lead in rooms, meaning the cheapest. They are very small and compact. They offer rooms with an ocean view or partial view. If seeing the ocean from your room is important, you will want the ocean view and not a partial.

The beach is open to the public and the views are fabulous. You can also see Diamond Head from the public beach. They offer dining at their beach restaurant, which offers incredible views. You can go in regular shoes because it is on the patio. However, take your beach shoes because you will want to walk the beach after dining. Hopefully you will have the opportunity to dine during a performance from a local singer. I also recommend a cup of coffee on the patio facing the ocean or dining for breakfast at the veranda. They also have offer spa experiences and shopping!

The resort’s location is unbeatable. It’s within walking distance of Duke’s Waikiki and an array of shops and dining options, making it easy to explore the vibrant neighborhood. That said, Waikiki is known for its lively atmosphere, which can be busy and noisy at times. If tranquility is more your style, consider combining your trip with a stay on Oahu’s serene North Shore.

Having stayed at many resorts and hotels across Oahu, I can confidently say that the Moana Surfrider offers a unique blend of luxury, location, and local culture. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a family vacation, I’d love to help you craft the perfect Hawaiian adventure.

TOP 3 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TRAVELING TO HAWAII

Aloha! Are you dreaming of a vacation to Hawaii? Hawaii is an ideal travel destination for people looking to explore magnificent beaches, soaring mountains, and learn about the island culture. This beautiful archipelago is a perfect getaway packed with adventure, natural beauty, and history, but before you embark on your journey to paradise, I’ve got three important things you should know. In this blog post, we’ll cover some essential tips that will help you get the most out of your Hawaiian vacation.

Weather conditions: Hawaii has a tropical climate meaning the weather is usually sunny, warm, and humid. The weather is typically consistent throughout the year, with minor changes. However, it is essential to keep in mind that most of the islands receive rainfall during the winter months from November to April. The rainy season in Hawaii starting in November and lasts until March, so if you are planning to visit during these months, be prepared to experience a few showers here and there. Summer and spring (May to October) are the driest, making them the best times for surfing, swimming, and hiking. Because of the minimal weather changes year-round, Hawaii is great vacation destination anytime.

Transportation: Getting around in Hawaii can be challenging, especially if you are planning to visit various islands. With all the fun activities to do on each island, you’ll want to make sure you have transportation figured out. Renting a car is the most convenient way to go around the islands, and it will allow you the flexibility to take stops along the way. Speaking of making stops, be sure it is public property and not private property.  Public transportation is also available on some islands, but it is not the most reliable option. Alternatively, you can use ride-sharing services or book a guided tour to explore the islands.

Cultural Awareness: Hawaii is a culturally rich place, and it is important to show respect for the local norms and values. The locals take pride in their traditions, so understanding their cultural customs will enable you to appreciate their way of life and avoid any unnecessary offense. One cultural value to note is the importance of respecting the land and the environment. Hawaii is home to beautiful flora and fauna, and it’s imperative to conserve the natural beauty of the islands.

Hawaii is one of the most stunning destinations in the world, and it has so much to offer. However, planning a trip to the islands can be intimidating, especially if it’s your first time visiting. I am a certified Hawaii Destination Specialist and have been to the island’s multiple times. I would love to assist you with planning your next Hawaiian Vacation.

Experiencing all that Hawaii offers

Aloha! We are about to visit the Big Island and Oahu soon.  I thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of our favorite things to experience in the Hawaiian Islands. There is so much to see and do in Hawaii. One of the biggest requests we have from clients is an all-inclusive experience. In Hawaii, you will not find all-inclusive resorts because the food and culture experiences require you to leave your resort and experience the islands.

This Central Pacific archipelago includes hundreds of islands and a diverse range of activities to partake in. With huge waves, volcanoes, and interesting culture, Hawaii will keep you busy and entertained. These are eight top things to enjoy while visiting the beautiful atoll.

Whale Watching – The ‘Big Island’ is the most popular destination for whale watching in Hawaii. The peak season to catch a glimpse of Humpback whales is from January to March. You have the option to view via a cruise or private boat tour.

Luaus – These traditional ceremonies are a major source of entertainment on all islands within Hawaii. Take the opportunity to enjoy live dancing, learn about Hawaiian as well as Polynesian culture, and enjoy delectable cuisines.

See a Lava Show – Hop aboard a World-class catamaran to get up and close to the volcano fingers as they enter the sea. You will have thoroughly trained staff aboard, and safety is paramount. You can select from a tour in the morning, sunset, day, or twilight tour.

Helicopter Tours – Various tour lines offer unique aerial journeys that allow you to view the breathtaking Hawaiian scenery. From volcanoes and waterfalls to hidden valleys and majestic coastlines. A helicopter tour is truly an ideal way to sightsee.

SUP (Stand-Up Paddle Boarding) – This activity originated in Hawaii and is a derivative of surfing. SUP is soothing and allows you to explore the waterways on your terms. An excellent paddle path to take is from the Lanikai Beach to the Mokulua Islands.

Horseback Riding Tours – Explore the coastline or venture to hidden trails on an exploratory horseback tour. Most companies offer private as well as group tours. Some countless ranches and stables accommodate tourists. Paniolo Adventures is one of the largest, with an 11,000-acre cattle ranch located in Waimea.

Mauna Kea – This dormant volcano is a unique wonder to explore and erupted over 4,000 years ago. You can hike the summit but be sure to stop by the VIS (Visitor Information Station) to check for weather and safety tips.

Kona Coffee Farm Tour – Kona coffee is some of the best gourmet coffee that you can find and is world-renowned. Kailua Kona, which is located on the ‘Big Island,’ is the heart of Kona coffee.
